“people’s right to choose to consume a relatively harmless substance like marijuana” WHAT?

Posted on 25 January 2008 by Beau Graves

Well last night after publishing my most recent post, a rather interesting issue was brought to my attention. A comment was left on the the post saying “On the one hand you talk about protecting your “freedoms”, while on the other you talk of restricting other people’s right to choose to consume a relatively harmless substance like marijuana. Sounds more like fascsim to me.”

So let me get into this a little bit. First of all let’s learn the definition of Fascism: a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

The post had nothing to do with racism, It clearly defined that it would not be a good idea to open the border’s because of the amount of drugs that are being trafficked at this point let alone, when they open the border’s and there is nothing stopping them from coming across with a clean conscience. I did not say anything whether or not that it was Americans trafficking drugs, or if it was Mexicans trafficking drugs. I just wanted people to be aware of the fact that they are being trafficked at this point at a high amount, I could not even imagine the amount after the union.

Second of all, I do want to protect our freedoms, but guess what? smoking weed is not a freedom, it is not a privilege, and last time I checked it is still against the law. Thirdly, I guarantee the money seized in those pictures was not all attributed to marijuana sales.

And last but not least, Marijuana is not “Harmless” it is still a drug, and a gateway drug at that. It still gets you mixed in with the wrong people, which gets you mixed in with the wrong stuff, which puts you on a sweet highway to nothing. They can lead you down a path of no return. They can hinder your whole life, and the way that you see things. They change you so much, that it is extremely hard to rebound from it. With help you can return, if you don’t believe me ask my friend Robert at www.becomingwellnow.com

I didn’t mean to get off on a tangent about the use of marijuana, but I do not agree at all that it is harmless, and I do not believe that my views are racist at all, if you know me, you would not think that for a minute. But I do believe in our freedoms, and privilege’s that can be taken away from us if we are not careful.

Open the borders… what are we thinking?

Posted on 24 January 2008 by Beau Graves

Well I opened up my email today, and low and behold there it was, yet another email talking about the battle at the border, and the problems that we are going to create for ourselves, if we decide that we want to go through with the North American Union. The pictures below are of the money and guns, that the border patrol seized from a trucker’s, trailer.

The amount of money is incredible, and if you notice most of it is American dollars, very little is foreign currency. Our society is not going to benefit at all from the opening of border’s with the amount of drugs that the drug lord’s, and drug dealers are trafficking daily. We need to take a step back and re think our current situation, and then put into account how immensely things will change if we allow other nations through with no notice.

Seized drug money

Guns and cash

cabinet of cash

closet of cash

I for one am always thinking about how this is going to change life as we know it, is it going to be better? how is it going to affect our kids down the road? what benefits are we gaining? the list goes on and on. Just today I found an article in a local newspaper, about $185,000 seized, at a local home, with multiple pounds of marijuana as well. Another home was raided, and drugs and money were found there as well.

The whole reason behind this post is just to make people more aware of the situation at hand, and that we need to be thinking about our future and the future of our nation, and children. So many things can come into play with the big decisions that are being made in congress. Our nation is so incredible, and so fragile that we need to make sure that we are fighting for our freedom, and keeping the freedoms in our best interest.

The battle of the best… or at least a battle?

Posted on 23 January 2008 by Beau Graves

I just wanted to speak my mind a little, about the events on the road to the election. Monday night at Myrtle Beach really showed me that the democrats are scared of the republicans. Hillary and Barack, were going back and forth about how they are the best person to go up against, a John McCain. Hillary says that she is clearly winning in all the poles, and Barack says that sources say that he is winning all the poles, and back and forth, and just criticizing until some one lashes out at another. The one who lashed out ended up being Bill the following day, but that is a entirely different matter.

Hillary just seems so wavering on here issues on foreign policy and clearly doesn’t have one, because whenever that question is brought up she some how changes the subject, and just states that her standing on the issue, is better then the other candidates but never says what it is. Myrtle beach was an interesting debate to listen to, to really gain an understanding about Hillary, and Obama in the democrat race. From what I saw Edwards won that night, because he is the only one that kept calm, and didn’t try to get into the middle of mud pit.

Hilary goes back and forth on her word as well, one minute she is one thing and then the next she is different depending on what the debate is, or how the topic changes. They were talking about corporate lobbyists, and that Barack will not have them in the white house “How about you Hillary?” “Well, I’m going to have those persons in the white house that are best fit to lead this country to what it deserves” and then it seemed like not even ten minutes later, she is saying that she won’t have them in there, and then she will… she does not have a direct answer for anything that she is debating.

This whole subject is a little crazy to dabble in, but I just can’t believe some of the things that are brought out in political debates and campaigns. I know from a personal level how crazy community politics can get I couldn’t even imagine the amount of effort and time that is put into trying to find dirt on someone at the federal level.

Bottom line is, politics are great and the freedom to vote is awesome, but sometimes that path between those too can be extremely shady, no matter what level you are on.
