I got an email from a friend discussing the pressing issue of Gun Control that we are having right now. There was so much good information in the email that I just had to make it a post considering that is what i’m all about.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australian taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information..
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him of this history lesson.

Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl Harbor had attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28. Most of our Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.
It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl Harbor attack with an invasion of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. & knew that almost all households had guns.

Sure there is a bunch of people out there that should not have the right to bear arms, and 
that is because they have done things to lose that privilege. The rest of us still have that right and should be able to keep it.
Just like this article states, the criminals are still going to get the hands on the guns, because they are getting them illegally anyway. for those of us who are trying to acquire them legally, we are the only ones who are going to be effected by this, and with that will not be able to defend ourselves against the criminals who will have them.
There is nothing wrong with bearing arms, and having the right to protect yourself and your family against the the scum of the earth that is out there.
If you want to make sure that your freedoms are not taken away from you, and you are not one of these awful statistics that were not able to defend themselves, then get out there and make your voice heard.
The constitution was not written in vain, there was reason that we have the rights that we do. Make sure that you fight to keep them, so that you don’t have to fight for your life defenselessly.
DON’T LET CONGRESS TAKE AWAY FROM YOU, WHAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN!

very hard to believe. gun control only controls those who follow the law. criminals break the law, and therefore they dont care about gun laws. but the whole reason we are given that right is to protect ourselves from the greediness of the government and prevent the situations that those other governments listed above had to go through

dont get me wrong young gangs have illegal guns and they tend to shoot likeminded souls but as it is illegal to carry any form of hand gun (punishable by 10 years to life imprisonment)there just is not the oppertunity to shoot anyone. there are cases of gun crime but i personally do not know of anyone who owns a gun or has been threatened by one.
if guns were available to the general population then it stands to reason that more guns in circulation means more disputes being settled by them and more people getting shot.

and to be fair ed the article points out a spate of 3 murders in london in a fortnight . i wonder how many killings there were in new york over the same period.
as i say its young teenage gangs in the inner cities who get involved in macho tit for tat killings that devastate there families.
your the researcher ed find out the comparisons and do your duty to your fellow countrymen. you will realise that if no one was allowed guns then no one could get shot. admittadly criminals will break the law and continue to carry guns but over a period of ten years or so you will see a dramatic decrease in gun crime.
that right to bear arms nonsense is a chain around your country’s neck.

That was the intention of the founding fathers to give the people the tools to revolt against a tyrannical government. Read their writings, especially Thomas Jefferson.
The number of gun owners in the US far out number the military. It would be a near impossible task for the military to disarm the citizens. The result would be civil war.

i understand that i am dealing with normal blokes who go about their everyday buisness with no intention whatsoever of harming anyone. but what about the nutters out their this right to bear arms allows them access to guns even if they cant own a licence they can easily find a gun to steal. then we have a nutter with a gun- you cant even run away. and dont give me any twaddle about being able to shoot him cos i dont want to shoot anyone and you just know the justice system is going to turn that on its head and give you 500 years in the clink for shooting a mentally handicapped person.grrreat 500 years of being bummed by nazi’s - i’d rather be shot.
now compare that with my way - when confronted by a nutter with a knife- chin him or leg it. either way my sphincter is intact and i’m smiling.

I live in Texas. I have a Concealed Carry License and a Collector’s License. I am 47. When I was 16, I was robbed while working at a Wendy’s restaurant, by a surprisingly polite guy with a Smith & Wesson .357 magnum. I know because I could read the markings on the side of the barrel, as he stood behind me and pointed it at the other employees over my shoulder.
Because of this experience, I would prefer to defend myself rather than depend on the cops. They are not there to protect you. They are there to enforce the law. They cannot be everywhere at once. You are responsible for your own protection.
Mentally ill people will always get or improvise weapons. (Delusional does not equal mentally retarded).
I am not concerned with the criminal justice system, I would be concerned with the civil courts. Self defense is easy to justify if you follow the law as a gun owner. You will likely be sued by the dead or injured scumbag or his family.

As a native son of Wyoming, of course I whole-heartedly support the 2nd Amendment Rights to “keep and bear arms”–your line about something like “With guns we are citizens, without them we are merely subjects” has a real ring of truth to it.
But it makes me sad, and I really wonder, it seems so many people who are rabid about the 2nd Amendment seem to forget the other 9 on the Bill of Rights (paticularly the 4th Amendment under Bush and that recent wallflower, the 10th Amendment).
And it seems to me that all the kerfluffle about “Congress taking our guns away” or Obama planning to take our guns away” and all this other nonsense is just that–mindless propaganda designed to stir up your emotions because certainly your brains should realize that nobody, NOBODY, is actively trying to take our guns away. Nobody is planning it, for that matter. Nobody.
There is so much more to be upset about–the past Administration’s shredding the rule of law to torture and murder detainees and spy on everyday Americans, the current Administration’s proclivity to spend our money to save banks and insurance companies and let citizens continue to go bankrupt–that we should really just look at the idiots trying to stir the 2nd Amendment pot of emotions and realize that they are just trying to manipulate us by riling our emotions. They are using us.
No…look at them–they don’t care snot about our guns or us–they just want an angry electorate–they are doing the same thing with the abortion issue, but with 8 years of locked-up control on the White House, both Hoses of Congress AND the Supreme Court, they did absolutely nothing to end abortion. Because they want you angry. They need the issue, so they manipulate our emotions about abortion, but they do not move to end it.
They’ll manipulate us on about gun control in the same way if we let them…but they don’t give a shit about us or our guns.
You want to be programed by by them? Fine. I should think you’d want to give it a little more thought, dig a little deeper and be a wee bit more analytical about it and less knee jerk reactionary and predictable. You might learn some uncomfortable truths in the process.
Besides, it’ll scare the shit out of them and who knows…maybe then they’ll HAVE to start caring about us!
